Sacred Interruption Advent Retreat

$500.00

December 12-14, 2025
Orono, MN
Facilitators: Cathy Loerzel, Heather Stringer, Christy Bauman

In the stillness of winter—when snow hushes the world and the nights grow long—we remember that God came not in a blaze of glory, but in the soft, slow unfolding of a womb.

This Advent, Sacred Interruption invites you to an intimate retreat with just eight women, gathered on the edge of a frozen lake in Minnesota. Together, we will step into the sacred rhythm of winter—where silence, body, ritual, and story prepare us for the birth of something holy.

We’ll explore the ache and wonder of Advent through the lives of Mary and Elizabeth, women who waited, hoped, and bore life in the dark. Through small-group storywork, sacred ritual, body-based healing, and elemental practices like cold plunges, saunas, and shared feasting, we’ll reconnect with the parts of us that have gone quiet—and listen for what is still forming.

This is not a retreat for striving or fixing. It is a space to rest, to root, to return.

We’ll gather to:

  • Sit by the fire and break bread around a shared table

  • Soak and plunge, letting the wisdom of water reset our nervous systems

  • Honor our bodies with sacred movement and ritual

  • Listen for God’s voice in myth, scripture, and one another

  • Rest in the womb of winter and trust that what’s growing in the dark is holy

Let this Advent be different. Let it be small, slow, sacred.
