Sacred Interruption Advent Retreat
December 10-13, 2026
Four Peaks Ranch in Bozeman, MT
Facilitators: Cathy Loerzel, Heather Stringer
Group size: 8 women, in 4 shared and private rooms
Investment: from $3,800 to $4,800 per woman, depending on room and bed. All lodging and meals included.
Advent asks something of us that our culture doesn’t do very well: wait.
This is a small, contemplative retreat for eight women who want to enter into this season of waiting on purpose. Led by Cathy Loerzel and Heather Stringer, we will gather at a private ranch outside Bozeman, Montana. No large group. No performance. Just a handful of women, a fire, and the slow work of hiddenness, formation, and longing that Advent has always asked of us.
The Setting
We'll gather at Four Peaks Ranch, a private 150-acre property ten minutes outside downtown Bozeman, at the base of the Bridger and Gallatin ranges. The lodge sits between meadow and treeline with mountain views on every side — a wood-burning fireplace, a wraparound porch, a hot tub and Finnish sauna for the coldest hours, and a pond with a fire ring just outside the door. December in Montana means real dark and real quiet — exactly the kind of hiddenness this season is asking us to practice.
How the Weekend Unfolds
Thursday, Dec. 10 (evening): Arrival, a casual dinner together, and settling into the space.
Friday–Saturday, Dec. 11–12: Teaching, ritual, embodied practice, rest, and unhurried time together.
Sunday, Dec. 13: A closing morning together before departure.
What to Expect
An intimate circle of eight women — small enough that no one fades into the back of the room.
Teaching and reflection rooted in the Advent season: the waiting of Mary and Elizabeth, the theology of hiddenness, and what it means to carry something not yet visible to anyone else.
Embodied practice and ritual, not just conversation — ways to mark this season in your body, not only your calendar.
Unhurried time: rest, quiet, and space to simply be with what this year has held for you.
Shared meals and a table held by women who understand what it costs to slow down in December.
Who This Is For
Women who have been part of Sacred Interruption before, and women who haven't. You don't need prior experience with our work but you do need a willingness to stop moving for a weekend and see what's underneath the busyness of this particular season.
This retreat is intentionally small. If you've experienced our larger Fall Gathering and found yourself wanting something quieter and closer, this is that.

Through practices like movement, storytelling, and creative exploration, we offer space for grounded reflection and connection. Designed for emotionally stable participants, these gatherings foster personal renewal and presence in a supportive, non-clinical environment.
